Hi Ker noa,
May I ask for your Wine 1.9.13 Staging configuration and if you used any patches that have not been implemented yet? The reason I am asking is that I would like to see if this affects other Unreal Engine 4 games and I am currently running Wine 1.9.13 Staging as well :)

--- Comment #2 from Ker noa blue-t@web.de --- It is Wine-Staging right down from the Ubuntu PPA as compiled by Sebastian Lackner. No additional patches are active.
Wine is set to: Windows 7, no dll overrides, staging tab has VAA backend enabled, EAX enabled and wine version is hidden from applications. Games run in full windowed mode and the window manager is allowed to control windows and decorate them. Res is 1920x1080 native , no virtual desktop. Audio is fixed to my headset. I also had to start the game with MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=4.1COMPAT because the feature level support check is still a little off its game.

I created a clean 64-bit prefix with no overrides and Windows 7 mode.
I am still getting crashes regarding ID3D11UnorderedAccessView ( see this bug: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40863 and this one: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40588 )
I used all your settings and started the game with MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=4.1COMP.
The Wine Staging version I have is from the official Arch repos: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/multilib/x86_64/wine-staging/

--- Comment #5 from fjfrackiewicz@gmail.com --- Created attachment 55013 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=55013 Terminal output for Wine-1.9.13-114-gb1930ee Windows 7 mode
I just compiled the latest git version of Wine (wine-1.9.13-114-gb1930ee) and attempted to run The Flame in the Flood in a clean WOW64 prefix in Windows 7 mode with no winetricks or overrides.
The game still gives the error dialogue box that Ker noa reported but at least now a black screen in windowed mode opens up with the game's ambient sounds playing in the background.
I have attached the terminal output in case anyone finds it useful :)

--- Comment #6 from Ker noa blue-t@web.de --- fjfrackiewicz we will get there. https://source.winehq.org/patches/data/123971 was just sent to the ML so you might want to try a new build.

So is this bug fixed?

--- Comment #9 from Ker noa blue-t@web.de --- Didn't have time to compile a patched wine yet. Probably it will crash with some other assert though.

I am compiling the latest git version as I write this comment. Will retest once the build is done :)

I added a new log with a patched build. Still crashes for me, but not exactly sure why.
It crashes because rendering to 3D textures is not implemented.

--- Comment #14 from fjfrackiewicz@gmail.com --- The Solus Project crashes the same way as Flame in the Flood did for Ker noa.
