I've attached the required directory structure and a simple test 3D scene. Unpack the rar file, preserving the directory structure, to the wine C: directory, then issue LWSN command as described in the original report. On versions of LWSN prior to 9.6, a 3D image will be rendered and saved to the images directory (part of the supplied directory structure). On LWSN 9.6, the described bug appears.

Please update the "Steps to reproduce:" for the trail version. Look like the directory structure is different and the testscene.lws file is not present.
CORRECTION:
Apologies. Screwed up the instructions for Steps to reproduce... Please follow this procedure:
Install the Lightwave trial version (link in original posting). Accept default settings/locations for everything.
Download the attachment "content.rar" above and unpack it to the wine C: directory, preserving the directory structure.
Navingate to the "C:\Program Files\NewTek\Lightwave 3D 9\Programs" directory and open a terminal there.
Issue the following command: wine lwsn.exe -3 -dC:/Content scenes/testscene.lws 1 1 1
Expected & actual results should then be as originally described.

Is this still an issue in current (1.2-rc2 or newer) Wine?
It is looking like a hardware issue rather than a Wine bug per se. The crash still occurs on the current Wine (1.2-rc2) & Ubuntu 10.04 but only on my Asus Terminator A7VT barebones system.
No crash occurs when I run Wine 1.2-rcs on Ubuntu 10.04 as a VM in Virtualbox, for instance.
