--- Comment #1 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
I can't confirm a crash but at least a problem with the installer.
Unfortunately your crash log isn't that useful because the backtrace doesn't really pinpoint the origin of the assertion (stackframes are garbage).
Does the crash happen during 'install' or 'update' phase?
For me it proceeds as follows (new 32-bit WINEPREFIX, no prerequisites):
* installs .NET Framework 4.0 -> ok * installs Quicken 2014 -> ok * updates Quicken 2014 from Internet -> hang/critsec timeout messages in terminal
That critsec timeout/hang seems to be a multi-threaded wininet bug.

'winetricks wininet' works around and lets the installer successfully finish.
Please check if it helps to avoid the crash. If yes, it's probably a dupe of already existing wininet bugs.
If not, please retest with newer Wine version, preferably Wine 1.7.9 and attach new crash log.

--- Comment #2 from Ken Botwinick kenbotwinick@mac.com --- For me (using 1.7.10 on 10.9.1) it crashes during install with:
fixme:storage:create_storagefile Storage share mode not implemented. [a bunch of stuff] /opt/local/lib/../bin/wine: line 5: 18883 Abort trap: 6 DYLD_FALLBACK_LIBRARY_PATH="/opt/local/lib:/usr/lib" "/opt/local/libexec/wine/wine" "$@"
But before that I also get the attached screen shot, to which I click OK.
I tried a new prefix and didn't install .NET using winetricks, in an attempt to copy your success, but the installer failed at the .NET portion. So I had to install that manually first.
I'll try to figure out where to get the crash log to attach.

--- Comment #6 from Ken Botwinick kenbotwinick@mac.com --- According to some info over at Crossover, seems this is a dual monitor bug... Which might explain the difference between it working for some and not others.

--- Comment #9 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for over a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.51 or newer) wine?
