Bug #: 32222 Summary: LTspice: text fields issues Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: testelor@yahoo.com Classification: Unclassified
Steps to reproduce:
1) Download, install and run LTSpice - http://ltspice.linear.com/software/LTspiceIV.exe
2) Create a new schematic and place a resistor by pressing 'R' and clicking in the schematic
2a) Ctrl-right click on the device and fill up the "SpiceLine", then keep on typing -- it won't follow the typed characters instead, it will stay "anchored" to the beginning.
3) Add a text by pressing 'T', writing something, then clicking on the schematic.
3a) Fill up one line, then keep going. It will let you see what you type ahead, but breaking a line with ctrl-enter will leave garbage. The same happens for any number of lines.
3b) If there's a very long one-line expression, the cursor will stay at the beginning, it will not show up moving and any editing is done "blindly".

Trying to tyoe will not let you see ahead.

--- Comment #2 from testelor@yahoo.com 2012-11-14 01:37:58 CST --- Created attachment 42499 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=42499 Line too long in text/SPICE directive editor ('T' or 'S' key)
Pressing either 'S' or 'T' and filling up more than the line expects to will get you this. Normally, Ctrl+Enter resolves it, but for larger blocks of text/parameters/etc resizing is needed which is bug 32221.

--- Comment #3 from testelor@yahoo.com 2012-11-14 01:39:13 CST --- Created attachment 42500 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=42500 Line too long in text/SPICE directive editor ('T' or 'S' key) #2
Behind you see a monster function, less-likely to have in reality, and the dialog shows the I-beam at the beginning which will not move (arrow keys, mouse click, nothing).

--- Comment #4 from testelor@yahoo.com 2012-11-14 01:40:18 CST --- Created attachment 42501 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=42501 Line too long in text/SPICE directive editor ('T' or 'S' key) #3
The proper way to break the lines, but it leaves you scrolling through the whole ordeal, you can't resize.

--- Comment #9 from testelor@yahoo.com --- Currently, Archlinux has wine 4.4, and the bug now seems to only be present for points 1-2 in OP: Ctrl+RClick an element, double click one of the entry-lines, keep on typing until the characters dissappear from view -- the cursor or the viewpoint do not follow; but you can still type and the charaters will be remembered. These for LTspiceXVII (LTspiceIV is still used, but no longer updated).

--- Comment #10 from testelor@yahoo.com --- Current Wine on Archlinux is 5.4, the bugs seem to be gone, thank you.
