Summary: No sound inDawn Of War - Soulstorm Demo Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3dx9 AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: discodestroyer@gmx.net CC: wine-bugs@winehq.org
Created an attachment (id=28731) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=28731) regression test result identifying the bad commit
I and 2 other guys don't have sound while playing DoW. Other games work fine.
I made a regression test and found the bad commit, see attachment.
Removing the commit from yesterdays trunk I can play the game with sound.
All tests are done on a Sidux x64 Box, running a Debian unstable 32bit chroot environment in which I compile and use wine.

--- Comment #1 from HennR discodestroyer@gmx.net 2010-06-11 09:04:20 --- Hmm, how to add the dev that commited the code to CC?
Bugzilla tells me:

You still did not answer the key point. Which version works for you (wine --version)? What is your current non/working version?
I can have a look, but i need you to answer these questions first.

I fear I have to make the regression test again to be able to tell you the last working version.
Yesterdays trunk minus this commit works fine.
git show e6611e22fb037a879205f1330d1a3485f9f18705 |patch -p1 -R
But that doesn't help you, right?

"git bisect log" should tell you what did you used for
$ git bisect good wine-x.y.z
Maybe bash "history" will tell you the same thing, if you already reset/removed git.

I can confirm this. Revert of the commit on top wine-1.2-rc2-288-g95aaaf2 brings sounds back. Console output is the same in both cases.

--- Comment #12 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2010-06-12 13:11:12 --- The same commit causes the following audio issue in the game Zombie Driver: game's audio ceased to work properly since Wine-1.2-rc2, only cracklings can be heard through the speakers.
Result of regression testing:
