Summary: Oblivion crashes during certain quests when using backbuffer for OffScreenRenderingMode Product: Wine Version: 1.0.0 Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: smackdat1@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=14368) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=14368) Crash Log for Oblivion Bug
I've noticed during the dark brotherhood quests when using backbuffer for OffScreenRenderingMode that the game may crash when certain things are done. Entering certain doors will always cause a crash, jumping into the water during certain points of certain quests will also cause a crash. It's seems that numerous things trigger this crash, but they all produce an almost identical back trace. If anyone has trouble reproducing this bug, then I'll post additional info / my hardware.

--- Comment #1 from Ben Hodgetts (Enverex) ben@atomnet.co.uk 2008-06-26 09:25:32 --- Not major to Wine. Downgrading to Minor because FBO should be used with Oblivion anyway.

--- Comment #4 from Jordan M smackdat1@gmail.com 2008-06-27 03:12:44 --- I believe the key piece of text here may be "page fault on read access to 0x00000010 in 32-bit code". Surely the program doesn't need access to that address

--- Comment #5 from Jordan M smackdat1@gmail.com 2008-06-27 03:26:52 --- using +seh in the WINEDEBUG env var turned up this
trace:seh:__regs_RtlUnwind code=c0000027 flags=2 trace:seh:__regs_RtlUnwind calling handler at 0x7bc3aa00 code=c0000027 flags=2 trace:seh:__regs_RtlUnwind handler at 0x7bc3aa00 returned 1 trace:seh:__regs_RtlUnwind calling handler at 0x9c2c60 code=c0000027 flags=2 trace:seh:__regs_RtlUnwind handler at 0x9c2c60 returned 1
perhaps it's a bug in the RtlUnwind Function?

--- Comment #6 from Xavier Vachon xvachon@gmail.com 2008-11-23 21:22:18 --- Just mentioning that this is still occuring, very often when I enter towns. The game has become unplayable for me; I can enter any towns in the game for about 5 seconds and then the game crashes. I have essentially the same debug output than the one originally posted.

--- Comment #8 from spammaster@madtracker.net 2010-02-06 04:58:22 --- haven't seen a single crash on Oblivion since the 1.1.3x versions. The game runs stable. I have never seen a single crash.
I think this bug has been fixed.
