Bug ID: 52785 Summary: Battlefield 4 crashes in wined3d_buffer_create Product: Wine Version: 7.5 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: xiretza+winehq@xiretza.xyz Distribution: ---
Created attachment 72167 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=72167 Report saved by the wine crash reporter
During gameplay, Battlefield 4 frequently and seemingly randomly crashes with a page fault in wined3d_buffer_create. Some time ago I was able to play the game without any crashes, and I'm not aware of any updates to the game, so this may be a regression in wine - but too much on my system has changed since then to be certain. Crash report is attached.

There have been some significant changes lately, so a regression is not unlikely. Does this work with wine-7.0?

--- Comment #2 from xiretza+winehq@xiretza.xyz --- I have not been able to reproduce it on 7.0 so far, but considering the crash appeared only sporadically, that probably shouldn't be taken as proof.

--- Comment #3 from Zeb Figura z.figura12@gmail.com --- Is it possible for you to get default terminal output at the time of the crash?
WINEDEBUG=+d3d,+d3d11 would be more helpful, but may grow too large to be feasible.
Also, could you please attach (64-bit) wined3d.dll from wine 7.5?

--- Comment #6 from xiretza+winehq@xiretza.xyz --- Created attachment 72172 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=72172 Crash report produced when origin is killed
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52785
--- Comment #7 from xiretza+winehq@xiretza.xyz --- I found a more reliable way to crash the game with a very similar crash output - while the game is running, kill Origin.exe, which will cause the game to start its exit sequence, and subsequently crash.
I hope this is the same crash and not just a similar but unrelated one - to be sure, I've also attached the crash report for this one.

--- Comment #8 from xiretza+winehq@xiretza.xyz --- Were the logs of any help? Can I provide anything else to help debug this? I can confirm the crash still happens on Wine 7.7.
