Is there a download for the software? Even without the USB Dongle it might be
helpful to see what it's trying to do.

This is a trial for crossover.

The other link claims you can get it to work, but doesn't explain how :/

Yes, I read through all those posts and did whatever I found there. Didn't work
for me. They are all quite old anyhow.

I tried to install Power2Go 8 from supplied software cd-rom for my new burner
device:

cd/dvd  ASUS     BW-16D1HT        3.11  /dev/sr0

It installs but can't find any drive.

after some googling I found this article:

this one claims "0x4d014, corresponding to IOCTL_SCSI_PASS_THROUGH_DIRECT"
sounds about right for  optical disc burner ...

Interesting to note on same wine 8.0 rc2 (32 bit) ImgBurn sees drive via SPTI
(burned and checked one cd-rw). So it seems some scsi command support already
in wine (even if only after I installed udisks), and may be part of this bug
not very hard to fix?
