A fresh install of Ami Pro in a clean WINEPREFIX. Installer hangs at the end, but one can exit by ctrl+C in the console window.

--- Comment #2 from Sebastian Lackner sebastian@fds-team.de --- Please don't change the initial reported version number. When you retest with a newer version of wine, please add a comment to the bug report instead.

--- Comment #3 from Jens Staal staal1978@gmail.com --- wine-staging 1.9.21 successfully installs Ami Pro with a minor issue with Wine being unable to create Program Manager groups (screenshot)
Ami Pro starts but crashes. Console output shows this error:
fixme:ole:OleRegisterServer16 (AmiProDocument,...): stub fixme:psdrv:PSDRV_ExtEscape QUERYESCSUPPORT(769) - not supported.
I will make a new crash report later with the new wine-staging

--- Comment #6 from Jeppe Bundsgaard jeppe@bundsgaard.net --- Jens, did you find a solution to this? I think the same problem persists. I am using wine-2.8. Have tried several Windows-versions (in WINARCH win32) including 98, 95, win3.1.
Before AMIPRO crashes, I get the error: "Cannot open style sheet _DEFAULT.STY." But the file is in the program folder, and owned and readable by the user running WINE. Then it crashes with error in Winedvm.EXE.
I attach the output from the error.

--- Comment #7 from Jens Staal staal1978@gmail.com --- I also get a crash after clean install (wine-staging 2.9)

--- Comment #9 from Michael Müller michael@fds-team.de --- This pretty much looks like a duplicate of bug 19660 (same crash address), which is most probably a duplicate of bug 15906. The reason for the crash is that Wine returns too many fonts and therefore causes a segment overflow in the application. This might be a Wine bug (not completely analyzed yet), but it could also be possible that such an old 16 bit application can not handle the amount of fonts on modern systems any more. The mentioned bug reports contain hacks to work around the problem.
*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 19660 ***
