Summary: Mount&Blade: Warband: Mouse pointer not shown in menu after entering battle mode Product: Wine Version: 1.3.21 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: krissn@op.pl
The Mount&Blade: Warband game suffers from a mouse pointer disappearence problem when exiting the battle mode using the Esc key.
Steps to reproduce: 1. Start the game. The main menu is shown. The mouse pointer is displayed normally. 2. Start a new battle or enter the tutorial so that the game enters the FPS mode (i.e. battle mode). 3. Press Esc to go back to the menu.
At step 3. the mouse pointer is shown, but is frozen. The mouse however works, as moving it around causes the menu buttons to highlight eventually. You can even click them once highligted and they will work.
This is a regression introduced in Wine 1.3.21. The scenario has been tested in 1.3.20 and the problem does not occur.

--- Comment #7 from Dogers dttdogers@gmail.com 2011-07-28 02:24:23 CDT --- By waiting the Wine guys fix this bug natively , you can try this :
You can fix all mount and blade mouse disappearance bug .
=> First of all , you need to get a Steam account (you can create one freely there : http://store.steampowered.com/)
=> When you are on your Steam window : Click game/add non-steam game and then add your Mount&Blade executable .
=> Now launch the game , you will notice that the mouse pointer is quite bug . There's is some kind of "fusion" between your desktop mouse pointer and your game mouse pointer . When you leave a fight , the game pointer will disappear and only let your desktop pointer . With that you can easily use context menu and play the full game as you like :D !
Notice that the pointer of your desktop remains , this is a little bit embarrassing , but the game is still very playable .
Enjoy !

--- Comment #15 from Adrien Fernandes adrien_fernandes2@hotmail.com --- I have this bug on FreeBSD 11.1 amd64 and Wine Staging (2.21) 32 bits. After a battle, the mouse cursor is graphically stuck somewhere on the screen BUT I can still move the cursor blindly to access the menu or move my party (I have to guess where the pointer is). The windowed mode isn't suffering of this problem at all. To get the mouse cursor moving again, you can alt+tab to windowed mode then return in fullscreen but as soon as you start another battle, the mouse cursor will be stuck again...
Sounds fixed on GNU/Linux since 6 years but not on FreeBSD :(
