Bug ID: 44627 Summary: Battle.net login button never appears Product: Wine Version: 3.2 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: katoflip@protonmail.com Distribution: ---
Created attachment 60617 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=60617 Results from screenfetch (minus some personal and superfluous details)
I have been trying to play Blizzard games for a while now, but since the 3.0 Wine release the login button on the battle.net Login screen never appears, making me unable to get to my account. I'm going to be honest and say I have no idea how to debug this further, so I was hoping someone could help me through the steps to provide better information.

--- Comment #5 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
dupe of bug 42000 which is dupe of bug 35902
https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=28855
(specifically https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=28855&... -> search for launcher/login issues)
I'm resolving here as dupe of bug 42000 ("Battle.net: invisible window elements with Win7+ mode") because it has a fitting description and specifically targets Battle.net
'battle.net-xxx.xxx.log':

I .505539 [WebServer] {Backend:0} Starting Webserver W .509154 [Main] {Backend:0} Certificate validation failed or not found, falling back. status=0 I .512240 [WebServer] {Backend:0} Webserver successfully started ... I .987640 [LoginController] {Main} LoginController ShowLoginWindow isLoginInProgress=0 IsLoggedIn=0 ... --- snip ---
The app uses a fall-back mode when the self-signed cert part fails. For that you need the workaround from bug 32342 ('winetricks -q corefonts').
NOTE: There is no mistake here. Bug 35902 and bug 32342 are two entirely different issues, but they have similar effect on the login dialog: making the login buttons/options appear.
* self-signed certs -> "smooth UI mode" (bug 35902) * fallback -> "ugly UI mode" (bug 32342)
Regards
