--- Comment #3 from Damjan Jovanovic damjan.jov@gmail.com --- Can you please do a git bisect?

--- Comment #4 from Robert Munteanu robert.munteanu@gmail.com --- I will try, but last time I failed unfortunately. I am using distro-provided packages right now.

--- Comment #5 from Robert Munteanu robert.munteanu@gmail.com --- I have tried to build wine locally but only managed to get a 32-bit build running, and the 32-bit one seems to work with 5.18 and 5.19 (both-self built) and the system 5.21 . So all I can say is that it broke between 5.18 and 5.19 but not for 32-bit prefixes.

--- Comment #6 from Rémi Bernon rbernon@codeweavers.com --- Hi, I've tried Evernote 6.24 with several Wine versions, 5.0, 5.10, 5.11, and 5.19 and never been able to see the notes text being correctly rendered.
Then I tried Wine 5.18, 5.19 and 6.0-rc2 each time with staging patches applied, and with all of these versions the notes text was correctly rendered.
So I think there's a patch in Wine Staging that fixes the text rendering somehow, but I couldn't see any regression in upstream Wine.

If you're up for it, you could bisect wine-staging against upstream wine.
corefonts might be an obvious culprit, though.

--- Comment #8 from Zebediah Figura z.figura12@gmail.com --- I can't seem to reproduce this in upstream wine 6.0-rc5. Can you please retest, or give more specific instructions for reproduction (perhaps including screenshots)?

--- Comment #9 from Robert Munteanu robert.munteanu@gmail.com --- Created attachment 69153 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=69153 Screenshot of missing text
I am running wine 6.0-rc6, openSUSE Tumbleweed x64_64, Gnome 3. I have no dll overrides set up ( verified with winecfg ). When I try to open a note, whether it's in the main Evernote window or a separate one, the text area does not appear.
I know there is text from the preview (top left corner) and the word/character count (bottom left corner).

--- Comment #10 from Robert Munteanu robert.munteanu@gmail.com --- Oh, and I have found a workaround: go to Tools → Options → Application and make sure _Enable Hardware Acceleration_ is not checked.

--- Comment #11 from Zebediah Figura z.figura12@gmail.com --- Thanks, it's the "Enable Hardware Acceleration" switch that accounts for the difference. That's disabled by default for me.
Anyway, it turns out this is fixed in current Wine. I did a reverse bisect to figure out what fixed it, and it resulted in https://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/commitdiff/70418f69dd49da5625bb1893d9fc2bef3fe97b5e.
I'm also going to remove the "regression" keyword also since according to comment 6 it doesn't seem to really have been a regression.
