Summary: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x033f7118 at address 0x4013af when running GoogleChromePortable_8.0.552.237_online.paf.exe Product: Wine Version: 1.1.42 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: jwater7@charter.net
Trying to install "Google chrome portable" (google for the download link) on a debian lenny machine I get this error messsage: The program GoogleChromePortable_8.0.552.237_online.paf.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close...
and the last few lines of the terminal show: fixme:wininet:InternetSetOptionW Option INTERNET_OPTION_CONNECT_TIMEOUT (20000): STUB wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x033f7118 at address 0x4013af (thread 0037), starting debugger...
After the error, the chrome detail window shows: ERROR: (chrome_installer.exe > chrome.7z)
This one is fairly easy to repro on my machine. I haven't tried it on a different box yet, but if it can't be reproduced by one of you, just call it a problem with my configuration and close.
Thanks

--- Comment #3 from jwater7@charter.net 2011-01-21 17:49:23 CST --- I just tried it on another machine (ubuntu) with 1.2.1 and it failed in the same spot. I attached the backtrace.
HOWEVER, I tried loading the dbg and dev packages and redirecting the output from wine and it started working. Now I can't get it to happen anymore on the ubuntu machine.

It happened again with the dbg and dev packages installed. It appears that it's a timing problem or something else sporatically happening.
