tempo events are really independent, not having them won't make play simpler. you need to use tempo in your calculations anyway (there is a default tempo of 120).
in fact most of the code dealing with a changing tempo is already in dmusic, this MR is using the tempo track interface so it can piggyback on that logic.
do you still want me to split out the tempo track logic?
