Fwiw I'm not completely sure that creating sources individually and then monitors for each source is the right model in the long term. As far as I can see, on Windows, a monitor is either attached to a given source, or, when it is detached, enumerated on every source it could be attached to and not a specific one. That might be something to consider changing in the future?
