This patch was disabled with commit https://github.com/wine-staging/wine-staging/commit/2f712afe77621022401d0d73... (== v9.11~15)
I can confirm it worked better until wine-staging-9.10. wine-staging-9.11 behaves like regular wine.
Nevertheless I think this feature needs test-coverage.
