Yes, it doesn't even start using mfplat if this part fails. And with this part it starts using it and hits a few missing winegstreamer bits, but I have patches that make it work pending (currently in Proton). Without video succeeding (e. g., for the reason of not finding these dlls) it just hangs on black screen waiting for something which is not going to happen.
I am also not a fan of making work to just cleanup some log errors or move a thing a little bit further :)
