My first install was from a rpm that came with my distro (it was about + a year out of date) my second install was from tarball. .tools\wineinstall + worked good enough that was able to run wine after running it. I now install off + CVS which means I am as up to date as the developers (this has its own + problems). The biggest problem with installing from tarball or CVS is the time + it takes to build the system. On my machine it takes about 3 hours. I can still + use my machine while it's running but it slows everything else down. + + My machine: P200, 96Mb RAM, 248MB swap, 40GB HD, S3vidio, No sound card, RedHat + 6.0, Ximian Gnome, + + Wine runs most of my kid's Preschool games but not all of them.
