[Bug 2926] Can't cut/paste password into Steam
by Wine Bugs June 29, 2005

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2926 ------- Additional Comments From ivg2(a)cornell.edu 2005-29-06 01:08 ------- I don't see why I should be cutting and pasting the password into Steam in the first place. The problem is that: 1) Steam runs on top of everything 2) Steam runs on all workspaces 3) Steam never has keyboard focus. Changing to Desktop mode has no effect. I'm not sure what you mean by "selecting icon from tray" - there is no icon...or tray. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3084 ------- Additional Comments From ivg2(a)cornell.edu 2005-29-06 00:49 ------- So, I re-downloaded the Steam installer, and the update passed successfully. I am not quite sure how to get it back to a state where it breaks for testing.. Will leave bug open for now.. However, Steam presents other problems, for which I'll file a separate bug - it runs on all workspaces, on top of everything, and has no keyboard focus (I can't type the password). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.

[Bug 3080] New: Wine and DMIX (ALSA 1.0.8 and 1.0.9) broken again - especially DirectSound
by Wine Bugs June 27, 2005

June 27, 2005

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3080 Summary: Wine and DMIX (ALSA 1.0.8 and 1.0.9) broken again - especially DirectSound Product: Wine Version: 20050524 Platform: Other OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-multimedia AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: leon_fraitak(a)mail.ru After setting up Wine to work with DMIX (used an undocumented config option in [ALSA] section I had to find out by looking at the source code!) I encounter choppy sound with Wine whenever the CPU load is higher than 10-15%, and when it's 20% the sound stops playing at all. This may be also an ALSA bug, because without ~/.asoundrc Wine produces sound full of crackles (DMIX is being used then too) Here's my asoundrc: pcm.my_card { type hw card 0 mmap_emulation true } pcm.dmixed { type dmix # any unique number here ipc_key 313 slave { pcm "hw:0,0" # these settings may require tweaking for different sound # cards; this is for the Powerbook's built-in snd-powermac # probably not required at all for well-behaved cards... period_time 0 period_size 1024 buffer_size 16384 # mentioning rate fixes wrong speed/pitch in native ALSA stuff rate 44100 } } ctl.asymed { type hw card 0 } pcm.dsnooped { type dsnoop ipc_key 2048 slave { pcm "my_card" # rate 48000 # period_size 128 } } pcm.asymed { type asym playback.pcm "dmixed" capture.pcm "dsnooped" } pcm.pasymed { type plug slave.pcm "asymed" } pcm.dsp0 { type plug slave.pcm "asymed" } pcm.!default { type plug slave.pcm "asymed" #asymed } ctl.!default { type hw card 0 } Is that because Wine uses mmap? It is currently incompatible with DMIX. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2899 ------- Additional Comments From ivg2(a)cornell.edu 2005-27-06 03:27 ------- I assume you want to investigate the "Unhandled Exception" problem. Attached is the end of the msi log. You can find a full 3MB log here: http://ivan.ivg2.net/hl2/msi.log (3 MB) I couldn't tell you exactly what I did, because, like I said all the buttons show a font error - involves a cancel button on one of the screens. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.

[Bug 3058] Return to Castle Wolfenstein - crashes on load game
by Wine Bugs June 26, 2005

June 26, 2005

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3058 ------- Additional Comments From ivg2(a)cornell.edu 2005-26-06 16:49 ------- So, I did run memtest86, and there are 0.0 errors. I've had memory problems before, and this is not characteristic of what happens - bad memory does not cause random crashes in wine - it causes random crashes _everywhere_, and makes your system unusable. =============== I've uninstalled wolfenstein, and I've erased the large logs since they took way too much space, but I've kept the small ones on http://ivan.ivg2.net/wolf/ if there's still interest in fixing this. I'm not having any luck with HL2, as the installer still doesn't work, and now steam is also broken (freezes at 27% update). So, if you really need more logs I can reinstall. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.
