[Bug 25648] New: ie8 does not navigate to web pages or obey home page setting
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org June 12, 2026

June 12, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25648 Summary: ie8 does not navigate to web pages or obey home page setting Product: Wine Version: 1.3.2 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com (From http://code.google.com/p/winezeug/issues/detail?id=159 ) "winetricks ie8" succeeds, but the resulting browser doesn't seem to work. There are workarounds if you just care about the contents of the browser (e.g. you can use ie6's main window, and ie8's guts), but I don't know of a workaround for getting ie8's main window to work. This has probably never worked, but I'm marking 1.3.2 since that's when I first tried it. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 35291] New: setcap on wine-preloader makes Hearthstone fail to start
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org June 9, 2026

June 9, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35291 Bug ID: 35291 Summary: setcap on wine-preloader makes Hearthstone fail to start Product: Wine Version: 1.7.9 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: yeled.nova(a)gmail.com Classification: Unclassified Hi, When a Linux capability is enabled for wine preloader, Hearthstone does not start. This bug at least affects ------------------------- Archlinux x64/Linux 3.12.6-1-ARCH/Wine 1.7.9/libcap 2.22 Ubuntu 13.10 x64/Linux 3.11.0-14-generic/Wine (PPA) 1.7.9/libcap 2.22 Steps to reproduce ------------------ # setcap 'cap_net_bind_service=+ep' /usr/bin/wine-preloader $ wine Hearthstone.exe -launch -uid hs_beta Get a message box that captions "Fatal error in gc" and says "GetThreadContext failed", click "OK" Another message box that captions "Wine program crash", and says "Internal errors - invalid parameters received", click "OK" The process turns to a zombie, kill it. Revert the capabilities, the program loads. # setcap '-r' /usr/bin/wine-preloader $ wine Hearthstone.exe -launch -uid hs_beta This issue persists over system reboots. It's not just setting CAP_NET_BIND_SERVICE causes the problem. From what I observed, this error occurs as long as any capablity is enabled. Note on getting debug trace --------------------------- Right now due to bug #33947, battle.net.exe requires dbghelp to be disabled, and Hearthstone.exe depends on it in order to play. However, directly running Hearthstone.exe is good enough to reproduce this bug. So I suggest anyone who wants to look into this problem to re-enable the debugger and run 'wine Hearthstone.exe -launch -uid hs_beta' to get a debug trace. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. [Bug 25431] New: Wine shouldn't change the gamma value
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org June 9, 2026

June 9, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25431 Summary: Wine shouldn't change the gamma value Product: Wine Version: 1.3.8 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: incarus6(a)googlemail.com Some games (like Shaya http://shaiya.aeriagames.com/ ) can change the gamma value (I don't know how exactly, but it have the same effect as using the xgamma command in Linux). When you play in windowed mode (or with dual-screen) it is really annoying (and causing eyestrain) when the gamma value is too high. There should be an option to disable the possibility for games and software to change the gamma value. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 33759] New: Some applications reset the X color profile
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org June 9, 2026

June 9, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33759 Bug #: 33759 Summary: Some applications reset the X color profile Product: Wine Version: 1.5.31 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: liquitsnake(a)gmx.net Classification: Unclassified Some applications tend to reset the X color profile when they start. This profile is set by xcalib and shouldn't be mindlessly messed with. I could not determinate a pattern as to which programs do this. It seems games are especially prone. A simple test case: Get xcalib, and use it to set some random color profile, such as with xcalib -a -gc 5 Get CPU-Z. There is a simple no-installation zip available. Click away the initial error message and then watch as it resets the profile as it loads -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 23326] New: Cannot change printer settings, Family Tree 7
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org June 8, 2026

June 8, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23326 Summary: Cannot change printer settings, Family Tree 7 Product: Wine Version: 1.2-rc4 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: jamesl(a)bestweb.net Created an attachment (id=29072) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=29072) FTW7 print dialogue, compare Wine to XP Cannot select printer/change print settings with Family Tree Maker 7. Dialogue box comes up, drop-down boxes are working, but radio buttons for switching between "default printer" and an alternate printer are not selectable. Have compared the print dialogue between Wine vs a native install under Windows XP (SP3) and notice some text from the Windows install does not show up under Wine. Also tried the same thing with the "free" version of FTM2005se available at http://past.familytreemaker.com/download/starter.aspx and found it's behavior is the same. So I will describe steps from there, since it would be eaier for someone to get that to test against. STEPS TO RECREATE: 1: Set up wine profile with "WINEPREFIX=/home/jelabarre/wine-apps/ftw2005 winecfg"; set winver to "Windows XP", point the Documents directory under Desktop Integration to my own Documents directory 2: install FTW2005 by running "WINEPREFIX=/home/jelabaWINEPREFIX=/home/jelabarre/wine-apps/ftw2005 wine ./FamilyTreeMaker2005se.exe", accept all defaults. 3: open FTW 2005 from "Wine" menu entry on Gnome menu. Selected "Buy Later" from popup window (does not affect outcome, as same print problem occurrs in a regular retail version of FTM7) 4: create new file, or use existing file (same result either way) 5: select "File | Print Setup", then try to select radio button for either "Default Printer" or "Specific Printer". Neither can be selected 6: try selecting a "specific printer" from drop-down box. Printer can be selected, but radio buttons still not functional. 7: after selecting a printer other than the default (such as print-to-PDF) and then try printing. Output will still go to the Linux default printer, no edits of the print settings will take effect. The "Family Archive Viewer v6.0" at http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/abtffiv.html and "Family Archive Viewer v11.0" at http://www.genealogy.com/abtffiv.html are other variants that exhibits this behavior. Have attached sample screenshots of Wine vs WinXP versions of the print dialogue. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

by wine-bugs＠winehq.org June 4, 2026

June 4, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32879 Bug #: 32879 Summary: Legacy 5 does not appear in task bar Product: Wine Version: 1.5.22 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: lsts67(a)aganderson.me.uk Classification: Unclassified Legacy 5 does not appear in task bar at any time. Once its window appears on the desktop, this doesn't matter too much, but if all windows get closed, say to access the desktop, I know of no way to find it again. I'm using Linux Mint 14, but the problem pre-dates that by some way, just haven't had time to report it. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 33190] New: Font display problem using text and dc rotation
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org June 2, 2026

June 2, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33190 Bug #: 33190 Summary: Font display problem using text and dc rotation Product: Wine Version: 1.5.25 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: gdi32 AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: ralf.habacker(a)freenet.de Classification: Unclassified We recognized an gdi text display issue using the application Gausz http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=13649. The problem appears when gdi text is drawn with font rotation *and* display context rotation. The problem do not appear when either font rotation or display context rotation is zero. The application uses CreateIndirectFont to set a fixed size font with optional set rotation and draws the text with TextOut(). The display context rotation has been set with SetWorldTransform(). We tried to find a test case application, but where not able to reproduce the problem outside the application. We also tried to debug into wine's code based, but got lost by the details. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
