by wine-bugs＠winehq.org Oct. 7, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34040 Bug #: 34040 Summary: QuickBooks SS 2008 R1 crashes multiple times on second run Product: Wine Version: 1.6-rc5 Platform: x86-64 URL: http://dlm.download.intuit.com/SBD/QuickBooks/2008/R1/ QuickBooksSimpleStartDirect2008.exe OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: download Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: kennybobs(a)o2.co.uk Classification: Unclassified Created attachment 45237 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=45237 wine-1.6-rc5 console output Running QB 2008 a second time after setting up a company file and closing the application will cause multiple crashes that are caught by the application itself. To get this far: 1. winetricks -q dotnet20 msxml4 (Bug 34028 and Bug 34029) 2. Install. 3. Run and set up a company file and save it. 4. Exit application. 5. Run application. Tried msxml3 but this simply causes the application to hang. NOTE: Native msxml3 cannot be installed before the first run as this appears to also cause Bug 34028. Tried vcrun2005 too but it made no difference. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 9727] New: OPML displays error on startup; mshtml' s ShowHTMLDialog too stubby
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org Oct. 7, 2026

Oct. 7, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9727 Summary: OPML displays error on startup; mshtml's ShowHTMLDialog too stubby Product: Wine Version: CVS/GIT Platform: Other URL: http://support.opml.org/download OS/Version: other Status: NEW Keywords: download Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-shdocvw AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com http://www.scripting.com/stories/2007/09/20/howToSponsorAnOpenSourcePr.html says Dave Winer really wants OPML working well on Linux, so I had a look. First problem: on startup, it tries to run some javascript that runs a dll function. It fails with an error dialog, and wine complains fixme:mshtml:ShowHTMLDialog ((nil) 0x1959980 (nil) L"help: no" 0x7bdfadc4) Second problem: any time it tries to display a web page, it does start up your web browser, but the resulting page is blank (perhaps it can't pass the URL to the browser). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 41271] New: Fallout 4 - Audio issues (no sounds, hangs when playing intro video)
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org Oct. 6, 2026

Oct. 6, 2026

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41271 Bug ID: 41271 Summary: Fallout 4 - Audio issues (no sounds, hangs when playing intro video) Product: Wine Version: 1.9.18 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: xaudio2 Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: kimmo.myllyvirta(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 55571 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=55571 1.9.18 logs This could be dupe of bug #36977, but also hits bug #39402 possibly some others too. But since I can't find a decent workaround which works for Fallout 4, it might be ok to open a new bug. Not quite sure if the component is correct, either xaudio2 or dsound anyway. A bunch of logs attached, see below what they mean. Steam version of the game, only Steam and Fallout 4 installed to a clean prefix. Steam installs xact from _CommonRedist when first time launching the game. When the game is started it hangs when it should play the intro video; +tid,+dsound log attached (Log: fo4_tid_dsound.txt, +tid,+dsound). This could be bug #36977, since the game uses radgametools bink. With builtin xaudio2_7 the intro video works sometimes (extremely rarely, sorry I don't have decent log of this). But after the video is finished it will always hang after; warn:xaudio2:IXAudio2Impl_CreateSourceVoice OpenAL can't convert this format! when it tries to play the music for the main menu. (see bug #39402) With xaudio2_7 set to disabled the intro video works, but again extremely rarely. And it results to no sounds in Fallout 4 since bink player uses dsound, but Fallout 4 itself doesn't, it seems. There is "sAudioAPI=XAudio2" setting in Fallout4.ini, but it is a legacy setting. I can't find any indication of it supporting anything else than xaudio2 (on older Bethesda games there was other options available). Now the weird hack part; Since this feels like a race condition, I added usleep(100000) to the beginning of IDirectSound8Impl_Release, which seems to help a lot (this issue might not have anything to do with dsound release, that's just the first place I tried); - native xaudio2: the intro video works, and the music in main menu plays ok, always - success :) (Log: fo4_tid_dsound_sleep_hack.txt, +tid,+dsound ) - builtin xaudio2_7: the intro video works, but the music in main menu doesn't and the game hangs (as expected) after; warn:xaudio2:IXAudio2Impl_CreateSourceVoice OpenAL can't convert this format! (Log: fo4_tid_dsound_xaudio2_sleep_hack_builtin_xaudio2_7.txt, +tid,+dsound,+xaudio2 ) - disable xaudio2_7: the intro video works, no music in the main menu, but the game doesn't hang (Log: fo4_tid_dsound_sleep_hack_disable_xaudio2_7, +tid,+dsound ) Notes; - The main menu is just a black screen (lots of d3d11 fixmes in those logs), you just have to listen and imagine you are there :) - I also tried xact and xact_jun2010 with winetricks - those make no difference, works just like the xact shipped with the game -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. [Bug 44893] New: SKSE64 fails to initialize correctly
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org Oct. 6, 2026

Oct. 6, 2026

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44893 Bug ID: 44893 Summary: SKSE64 fails to initialize correctly Product: Wine Version: 3.5 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: labmailssadur(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- SKSE64 complains about failing to allocate "trampoline" and subsequently fails, even though the game itself (Skyrim SE) still launches. Steps to reproduce: 1. Set up a 64-bit prefix. 2. Install Skyrim Special Edition via Steam. 3. Install SKSE64. 4. Launch SKSE64 (via Mod Manager, such as MO, or directly, doesn't matter) 5. Watch SKSE64 complain about said "trampoline". This occurs whether you try to launch a modded or unmodded game, although when trying to launch an instance that relies on SKSE64 (such as SkyrimSE with SkyUI), the game is unable to proceed into its loding screen, but doesn't complain about it. I tried to find an issue report or something similar, but didn't find one, so I am assuming this is an issue with Wine. Further info: Tested SKSE64 version 2.0.6 on SkyrimSE Runtime 1.5.23.0.8 -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. [Bug 48641] New: skse64 is broken with the ntdll-ForceBottomUpAlloc patchset

Oct. 6, 2026

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48641 Bug ID: 48641 Summary: skse64 is broken with the ntdll-ForceBottomUpAlloc patchset Product: Wine-staging Version: 5.0-rc3 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: qsniyg(a)mail.com CC: leslie_alistair(a)hotmail.com, z.figura12(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- While SKSE64 now works properly under wine, it hangs (then fails to launch) when the ntdll-ForceBottomUpAlloc patchset is enabled. Building wine-staging without that specific patchset works fine. This is similar to how it was in earlier wine versions, before a better version of the F4SE patches (https://github.com/hdmap/wine-hackery/tree/master/f4se) were mainlined. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
