Use unzip -I shift-jis -O shift-jis to extract the ZIP, to avoid garbling the filenames. Run サクラノ刻第I章体験版.exe; you'll probably want to set LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8. 1. Start game. 2. Wait until you get the regular UI [it's just a few seconds, but you can press left-ctrl to speed it up a bit]. 3. Save the game. 4. Note that the thumbnail doesn't show the screen you're on but is all-black. If you examine the "savedata" directory, you'll notice that there's an all-black PNG alongside the save file; in other words, it seems to be the capture that fails. Installing DXVK into the prefix "fixes" the issue. That's why I chose the d3d component, by the way. I hope that was the right thing to do; if not please accept my apologies and reassign.
