It is confusing, because it looks like I posted test result with "testing" version and after that someone else posted test with the same version, but "staging" in this case, which is not true. I decided to try to tackle this issue because everyone on Lutris says the first solution to this bug is to disable DXVK, and the other one is to install Battle.net on a ext4 drive, although this is not an ideal solution for some users (like me). I found out that there is a bug that Battle.net cannot find the required DLLs, even though they exist in the Wine prefix. Pressing ESC closes the game (with the full-screen, black window), and I can see the attached output in my terminal. I should be able to switch to another desktop and get a debug trace when the black game window is on the screen, if you'd like me to do that. I'm using 375.26 of NVidia's drivers. Reader 11.0.4 with flash support for viewing PDF portfolios installed on Linux Mint 15 amd64. I can open a fully indexed PDF portfolio, and I can perform a search and get back the search window with the results for the search across the PDF files in the portfolio. However, as soon as I try to expand the results for a file to see the individual search hits, I get a dialog with "Unhandled exception, page fault...". See attached backtrace. Same problem happens with older versions of Wine and older versions of Reader. The next problem is a crash related to d3dx9_36.D3DXAssembleShaderFromResourceW, roughly bug 12020. Work around this with 'winetricks d3dx9'. The next problem is that full-screen mode doesn't work (bug 21791). Work around this by telling the demo to run in a window. This prompts you to press N, and then crashes after you do, with wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x0000001c at address 0x431c10 (thread 0009), starting debugger... This effect does not occur when running the game with DXVK, meaning there's a very specific difference the two implementations that has a large effect on this game. The game works as expected when I install <a href="https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install">mf-install</a> libraries, which tells me that the problem is with the video rendering. You can hear the sound playing, but the video fails to load. The game seems to try to load the video again and finds itself in a failing loop, leaking memory. While trying to reproduce the intro video, the game spams to the log: >fixme:mfplat:media_source_get_service_GetService Unsupported service {dd0ac3d8-40e3-4128-ac48-c0add067b714}. This issue (memory leak) doesn't occurs on Proton, but the intro video still can't be reproduced. Procedure: 1 - Open up the game 2 - Wait until the first intro (Massive Monster opening) ends 3 - Watch for the system monitor that RAM is leaking. Kill the application or else it'll freeze your system Game is paid and can be downloaded from Steam or GOG.
