[Bug 53302] New: BayPhoto ROES crash after several minutes

It installs, launches, and runs well, and orders can be submitted successfully. I'm not exactly sure what version it is, since it's an evergreen wrapper that downloads a Java app (I think). However, after about 3 minutes the application will spontaneously quit - not sure if it's a crash or not. This happens even if it's just launched and allowed to sit. I am unsure why, although the stdout log (attached) has a suspicious looking line: > # [ timer expired, abort... ] near the bottom. Wine version: 7.12.r0.gb2bf7b6b899 (installed via wine-git AUR package) [1]: https://bayphoto.com/order/bay-roes/ [2]: https://www.roeslaunch.com/ROES/labs/BayPhotoLab/launch.msi -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. To get this far: 1. winetricks -q dotnet20 msxml4 (Bug 34028 and Bug 34029) 2. Install. 3. Run and set up a company file and save it. 4. Exit application. 5. Run application. Tried msxml3 but this simply causes the application to hang. NOTE: Native msxml3 cannot be installed before the first run as this appears to also cause Bug 34028. This is different from the usual broken apps a la "I failed at porting my 32-bit app to 64-bit" (pointer truncation). In this case, pointers from certain allocations are broken into multiple parts and used as indices into multi-level lookup tables. Pitfall: there is a 44-bit user-mode VA limitation (8TB) for 64-bit Windows which was lifted starting with Windows 8.1+. Wine doesn't respect the 44-bit pre-Windows 8.1 virtual address space limits, allowing process heaps to be placed in 0000'7Fxx'0000'0000 range (128 TB) which causes out-of-bounds access to lookup tables when indices overflow (derived from pointer bits). The exception occurs in entry point, causing 'msxml6.dll' to be unloaded. One workaround is to move Wine's top-down allocations/heaps into 8 TB VA range (Wine preloader) and impose same user-mode address space bits limits as with all 64-bit Windows versions < 8.1 to stay "compatible". I've tested it and it works for native here. Not sure if it's worth to change though. I don't know if a separate 64-bit MSXML6 re-distributable package exists that has been fixed wrt Windows 8.1+ address space limits. MSXML6 is part of Windows OS for newer versions and automatically kept up-to-date. $ sha1sum msxml6_x64.msi 1eb84eeae7729ea5db7fe79779f4e216114261ba msxml6_x64.msi $ du -sh msxml6_x64.msi 2.6M msxml6_x64.msi $ wine --version wine-4.0-276-g84459ba94b Regards -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. [Bug 30639] New: Audio stuttering and performance drops in Star Wolves 3
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org Oct. 16, 2026

Oct. 16, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30639 Bug #: 30639 Summary: Audio stuttering and performance drops in Star Wolves 3 Product: Wine Version: 1.5.3 Platform: x86 URL: http://www.gamershell.com/download_8237.shtml OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Keywords: download, regression Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-dsound AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: gyebro69(a)gmail.com CC: patrakov(a)gmail.com Classification: Unclassified Regression SHA1: 275dfb83f2371a476b615b260465afb3cdf67f32 Due to a recent commit in Wine I get severe audio stuttering as well as slowdowns in certain games. This seems to affect only a small number of games, the vast majority of my games are still running fine. Whether these games are buggy ones or it is indeed a problem with the patch I can't decide as I don't have Windows installed to check how these games behave under native Windows. 275dfb83f2371a476b615b260465afb3cdf67f32 is the first bad commit commit 275dfb83f2371a476b615b260465afb3cdf67f32 Author: Alexander E. When I advance in the game or when I load a saved game I get severe audio stuttering and framerate drops below 15 fps. This makes the game hardly playable. If I quit playing and go back to the main menu, everything is back to normal. The demo for the game is protected with Starforce so it cannot be tested. Droplitz (Steam version): this is a puzzle game. A certain sound effect is intended to play when I create a path for the 'drops' and they make their way to their goal. When this happens I observe the same audio stuttering and performance drops. It lasts only for 2-3 seconds so it's not so severe. Armored Fist 3: audio (both music and speech) are stuttering heavily and it affects performance too. Link to the demo added to URL. There is no music in the demo, but you should observe the problem with speech after starting a new game. HoverAce: the same stuttering in audio and slowdowns can be observed. No demo available. Terminal output doesn't show anything related. [Bug 47015] New: Photoshop CC2019 Login screen does not render

X ing out of the small window closes PS. Log is attached. Looks to me like it is stuck trying (and failing) to render web content? This version of PS was installed on a Japanese system, so a language support issue might be related. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
