For instance in French: https://test.winehq.org/data/patterns.html#oleaut32:varformat varformat.c:641: str=L"0,000 \20ac" varformat.c:643: Test failed: Unexpected hr 0x80020005. There are two reasons for this failure: * VarParseNumFromStr() expects the currency sign to precede the monetary amount. This is not how it works in most European languages such as French, German, Swiss, etc. * VarParseNumFromStr() normally does not allow spaces between the monetary amount and the currency sign. However in French the thousands separator is a non-breaking space and that's a special case that also allows regular spaces. So, because in this case VarParseNumFromStr() is called with NUMPRS_THOUSANDS, it should ignore that space and successfully parse the trailing currency sign. It's a little piece of software used to administer a particular manufacturer's equipment, commonly used at radio and TV stations. I can confirm it has, and does, work fine under Wine 2.21 - just tested today on a MacBookPro8,1 running the official binaries (https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/macosx/pool/winehq-staging-2.21.pkg) under OS 10.13.6. Meanwhile, I have a new Mac (MacBookPro16,2 - Intel-based), on which I’ve deployed Wine 7.0 via homebrew under OS 12.6.1. There I can start nfremote just fine... but it ignores my mouse input. If I were to start it with the command-line argument "run", it presents me with a window where both keyboard and mouse input are accepted; there I can type in the text fields, so I know it's responsive. But when I hover the cursor over buttons, they do not 'light up’ to indicate such. And when I click, nothing happens. Even in years past, I found that newer versions of Wine exhibited the issue I describe below, so I simply never updated beyond 2.21. Reproduced the issue with nouveau/mesa 17.1.3 and nvidia binary drivers 381.22. Disabling anti-aliasing and lowering detail level to the minimum doesn't help. According to my testing the commit which caused the slowdown is commit 15d53761a5fbfc12fc5f9974c029dace00eab33d Author: Henri Verbeet <hverbeet(a)codeweavers.com> Date: Tue Jan 31 15:47:10 2017 +0100 wined3d: Do not pin system memory in wined3d_buffer_load_location(). Maybe a duplicate of bug #42588, although the symptoms are different. With the previous commit the game runs much smoothly. For comparison, in Wine 2.11 I'm getting only 4-5 fps when using nvidia 381.22. Before the regression Wine gave me 32-36 fps. Steps to reproduce the issue with the demo: 1. download and install the demo, install native d3dx9_33.dll before launching the game. 2. in the main menu start a new game, click <Next> on the character selection screen, press <Skip>. You are in a training chamber: run around in the room, rotate the camera using the right mouse button and observe how sluggish the game is. You can save the game here so you can reproduce the issue more easily the next time you enter the game. (again) Application crashes It seems that if you first search does not find any result and you close the search box manually, then next searches won't crash even if you have matches.
