I could not manage to install Internet Explorer, regardless the package used. I have Windows 10, up to date (21H1 right now) and I have installed Photoshop CC there and copied the files on my Linux for testing. This is because it is not possible to install Adobe Creative Cloud either, due to missing Internet Explorer 11. After starting Photoshop, the attached popup appears, so no possibility to use Photoshop CC, which is known to work in Wine (seemingly the tested versions of Photoshop CC are cracked somehow to skip this step, but that is illegal and dangerous for being know to bring malware). Everything else is silent. I have OpenAL installed, and ~/.alsoftrc contains: austin(a)midna:~$ cat .alsoftrc drivers = alsa I've tried disabling mmdevapi in winecfg, changing windows version to vista/7, using hardware emulation, using OSS instead of ALSA, etc., but have yet to get any sound out. The AppDB suggests installing foobar2000, then: "Use foobar2000 to set the playback device and then select the Direct Analog version in MassEffect2Config.exe." though in the configuration tool's audio tab, the sound devices list is empty, for me (with/without foobar2000). Steps to reproduce: 1. Download and install WebView2 (which includes Edge) from https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/ 2. Run: wine "/PATH/TO/PREFIX/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft/EdgeCore/VERSIONNUMBER/msedge.exe" --no-sandbox --disable-gpu --no-first-run Edge will launch, it will respond to inputs for a very short time, then freeze completely. --no-sandbox is required for it to launch at all, I will also file a bug for this issue. --disable-gpu is required wine wined3d, it can be dropped if using DXVK. --no-first-run disables the first run prompting you to sign in and such, it has no bearing on the bug itself. Install the demo version, link is in URL. Setting Win98 mode is advisable because the installer is from that era. Don't start the demo yet. 2. Install the UIM.06 patch over the demo: http://www.zedo.hardwar.info/HardwarUIM06.zip 3. Start Hardman.exe (launcher), select Display tab, enable '32 Bit Textures' option in Image Quality. The rest of the options here have no effect on the bug. 4. Go back to the 'Game' tab in the launcher, <Launch...>, <OK>, <Save>. The game should enter the main menu. 5. Enter a pilot name then select a job and voilà... you are in the cockpit with psychedelic textures everywhere.
