Reproduced the issue with nouveau/mesa 17.1.3 and nvidia binary drivers 381.22. Disabling anti-aliasing and lowering detail level to the minimum doesn't help. According to my testing the commit which caused the slowdown is commit 15d53761a5fbfc12fc5f9974c029dace00eab33d Author: Henri Verbeet <hverbeet(a)codeweavers.com> Date: Tue Jan 31 15:47:10 2017 +0100 wined3d: Do not pin system memory in wined3d_buffer_load_location(). Maybe a duplicate of bug #42588, although the symptoms are different. With the previous commit the game runs much smoothly. For comparison, in Wine 2.11 I'm getting only 4-5 fps when using nvidia 381.22. Before the regression Wine gave me 32-36 fps. Steps to reproduce the issue with the demo: 1. download and install the demo, install native d3dx9_33.dll before launching the game. 2. in the main menu start a new game, click <Next> on the character selection screen, press <Skip>. You are in a training chamber: run around in the room, rotate the camera using the right mouse button and observe how sluggish the game is. You can save the game here so you can reproduce the issue more easily the next time you enter the game. (again) Application crashes It seems that if you first search does not find any result and you close the search box manually, then next searches won't crash even if you have matches. This is also something that has been happening for a while, I just decided to report it because It can affect some parts of the game, such as rated PVP. The particular error logs as follows: 05f4:err:seh:dispatch_exception unknown exception (code=c0000420) raised wineserver crashed, please enable coredumps (ulimit -c unlimited) and restart. How to reproduce: This feels 'random' but makes me _think_ it could be a memory leak issue. If you're in highly populated areas _or_ highly demanding zones, it can trigger itself. Two recent scenarios I can recall - First, doing multiple arena matches and waiting for the queue in Oribos. The crash happened specifically during arena. - Second, doing the Ashran Brawl Battleground. This battleground is very, very long and has a lot of people around. If I don't do anything and just leave the game as is without inputs it runs for quite a while without issue. But without fail, if I start making inputs the game crashes within a minute or two. Clicking on the Signature Properties button brings up the Signature Properties window, but the Show Certificate button is greyed out. In Windows (tested XP & 7 in a VM), the first time you try to validate the signature the message in the Signature Validation Status window is: Signature validity is UNKNOWN. - The document has not been modified since the signature was applied. - The signer's identity is unknown because it has not been included in your list of trusted identities and none of its parent certificates are trusted. - The certificate has exceeded the time of validity. However, in Windows the Show Certificate button on the Signature Properties window works and takes you to a dialog that allows you to import the certificate. Once that is done, the message from clicking on the signature is: Signature is VALID, signed by John B Harris ,jbharris(a)adobe.com> - The document has not been modified since this signature was applied. - The signer's identity is valid. - The certificate has exceeded the time of validity. I'm attaching a log from opening the sample PDF and clicking on the signature in a clean wineprefix. It works almost perfectly fine. One regression regarding a hang on exit was already reported, see bug 56182 for more information. After some time of testing I found another minor flaw which is most likely gdiplus.dll related. The screen-output freezes for a short time after a selected area (in a picture) is moved around for more than two or three pixels. This is true for both, the built-in and the native gdiplus.dll. It affects only the drawing of the picture and not the mouse cursor. However, while the bug is present on both gdiplus variants, there exist still a difference when it occurs. (That's the reason why I think it is related to gdiplus.) A gdiplus.dll override to native is also needed for the first startup. Otherwise it is not possible to close the "Learning center" dialog box. When that is done the override can be reverted. Note, Paint Shop Pro 9 already contains an own (quite old) native "gdiplus.dll" file. It can be said that the built-in gdiplus works apart from that flaw somehow smoother than the included native version. A minimal test case with the necessary C code (<30 lines), the resulting .exe (compiled with MinGW) and a test .wav file is attached. The resulting test case: * works on all Windows 7 64bit machines tested * breaks with winealsa.drv on top of pulseaudio * breaks with winepulse.drv on top of pulseaudio * works with winealsa.drv on top of alsa (without pulseaudio) * works if the file is converted to a 16bit .wav file Furthermore, the attached output of pacmd list-sinks appears to show that pulseaudio doesn't advertise 24bit capabilities - so wine probably mistakenly tries to use 24bit audio with pulseaudio without support for that being present. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. I thought it was the exec filesystem flag error, but it was not set besides "winetricks dotnet20" succeeds. I also found this report: https://code.google.com/p/winetricks/issues/detail?can=2&start=0&num=100&q=… But it's not a winetricks bug: I try manually I've got the same error: taskset -c 0 wine wic_x86_enu.exe /passive ... With the commit is reverted everything redraws normally. Softube provides a free plugin that reproduces the issue ("Saturation Knob"), but sadly it's not very straightforward to set it up. First you need some DAW software what can run windows VST plugins through wine, like lmms. Then Softube doesn't provide it's plugins directly but insists on installing them through their bloated downloader, which then insists to install several licensing services. I could not get it to work through wine and used a windows vm for that part. PS was installed on windows. I believe I used "winetricks gdiplus vcrun2010 vcrun2012 vcrun2013 vcrun2015 msxml3 msxml6 atmlib corefonts fakejapanese" to get this far. X ing out of the small window closes PS. Log is attached. Looks to me like it is stuck trying (and failing) to render web content?
