You see, I just tried Photoshop CS6 and it gave me two strange errors that I'd like to report. I'm using Wine 10.5 BETA (the developer branch). The first error is that when installing, the installer progresses to the end, but it says the 32-bit version is installed, but the 64-bit version isn't. The error I get during installation is that the MSXML3 component dll can't load. I'm attaching a report showing what I got after installing Photoshop (it's the trial version). But that's not all. I ran Wine's file explorer and saw that 64-bit Photoshop is installed. That is, the installer gives an error, but the files are there. Out of curiosity, I ran it and it gave me an error saying that C++ 2008 doesn't detect it, preventing me from starting. The 32-bit version works perfectly. I'm attaching the report showing what I got when running 64-bit Photoshop. Could you please review it? In Windows it works fine with same programs and in same type of native Linux programs it also does with same fonts specfied (for instance I tested that both "Liberation"and "Noto" fonts work fine in LibreOffice in Linux (not Wine) but none works in Wine. I think that Wine does not *provide* details - such as glyphs - to applications from the font file, if the utf8-encoding for a character is more than 2 bytes long. The broken shortcuts are missing the C:\lotus part of the path. I have tried installing it under the latest ReactOS (which uses the MSI code from WineStaging-7.3), under Wine-Stable 7.0 and under Wine-Devel 7.20. All of them encounter the issue. (see attachment Portal-glitch02.png) The screenshot illustrates how the sound effects captions in white are fine, only the dialog captions in red with italics are affected. I've tried reducing all graphics options and resolutions, to no avail. It looks like something specific to font rendering - the bounding box for the characters is not taking into account their italicization, so the rightmost pixels are being truncated. Remove the z: drive (and add a d: drive for the installation path) before installation. 2. Install to my internal disk(s). I thought it might be related to the filesystem but I tried tmpfs, btrfs and ext4 and the result is the same. I thought it might need to be on the same btrfs volume as Wine but installing it on another volume works fine. I even tried adding a label to a thumb drive (btrfs) in case that was the issue but the result is the same - it fails no matter what when installing to the thumb drive, unless I do 1. above. Permissions are correctly set in all cases. I don't know what else I can try. Went back to Wine 8.0.1 and tried Staging 10.12 but the result is always the same. As can be seen from the log, the installer tries to install to the z: drive instead of c:, unless I install to an internal drive. Remove z: and I can install anywhere.
