[Bug 60525] New: FindVUK breaks in Wine 11.20 - SetFilePointer fails on Blu-ray/DVD drive
by WineHQ Bugzilla Oct. 23, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60525 Bug ID: 60525 Summary: FindVUK breaks in Wine 11.20 - SetFilePointer fails on Blu-ray/DVD drive Product: Wine Version: 11.20 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)list.winehq.org Reporter: toadking(a)toadking.com Target Milestone: --- Distribution: --- In Wine 11.20, the tool FindVUK fails on parsing Blu-ray/DVD discs/drives. The tool log prints this error: [E] drive_ms(399) / DRVMS_ReadLogicalBlockDrive / ERROR! SetFilePointer failed! ReadPos >32768< Looking at a trace it looks like get_handle_fd() with a raw drive handle (like "\\\\.\\D:") returns BAD_DEVICE_TYPE, when you should be able to open and read a Blu-ray/DVD disc this way. This program worked in Wine 11.19. A trace with WINEDEBUG=+all,+file is too large to attach (it was the only way to get the relevant log around BAD_DEVICE_TYPE) so it can be found here: https://toadking.com/findvuk.log.gz (relevant logs start around line 3537826) Command used: WINEDEBUG=+all,+file wine findvuk.exe validatedisc drive=d (expects a Blu-ray disc to inserted in drive D) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. [Bug 60565] New: SQLyog pop-up positioning problem
by WineHQ Bugzilla Oct. 23, 2026

I recently rearranged my monitor connections to (hopefully) prevent XFCE crashing. SQLyog does not position pop up windows and menu bar drop downs on the correct screen, unless I put the main window on the top left screen. Most of the time those items appear on the top left screen when the main window is not there. It was behaving fine until I rearranged my connections. Also fails on Wine 10 stable. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60564 Bug ID: 60564 Summary: BSG Launcher via Wine: keyboard input is not detected, not working. Product: Wine Version: 11.20 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)list.winehq.org Reporter: oktaylamacera(a)gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Distribution: --- Created attachment 82426 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=82426 Terminal logs saved to file I tried to install Escape from Tarkov and installed the BSG Launcher. When I opened it, the text was missing, so I ran winetricks corefonts to fix it. After that, everything looked normal. However, when I try to enter my email and password, nothing is typed—my keyboard doesn't seem to work. My keyboard works fine everywhere else, but Wine apps aren't detecting or accepting input from it on the login screen. Only my mouse works. [Bug 21960] New: winetest: can hardly type anything into the tag/email input forms
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org Oct. 23, 2026

Oct. 23, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21960 Summary: winetest: can hardly type anything into the tag/email input forms Product: Wine Version: 1.1.39 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.5 Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: hoehle(a)users.sourceforge.net Hi, the new email address requester is a pain to use because there's no cursor and, unlike the tag input form, it won't receive the input I type to the keyboard. So the user becomes desperate about how to be able to start the tests! It's only after I click "start" (after the error requester) that the requester shows a reaction to mouse clicks: although no cursor appears, I'm now able to type in some text. Actually, this behaviour is almost exeactly that of the tag input requester. The only difference is that this one typically echoes what I type immediately after starting Wine. Sometimes no input is accepted there either. Well, its behaviour appears as broken as the other input requester, but in the past, this was somehow less of an annoyance: sometimes it accepts input, sometimes not. What is noteworthy is that the window titles do not show the blue colour typical of activated windows. They stay grey instead. They stay grey even when I move the requester to some other location. Sometimes (with the tag input requester), it echoes my input even though the title bar is grey. A cursor appears in rare cases only. Often enough, the requester appears with a blue color title bar, accept text yet display no cursor. A (mostly?) reproduceable way to activate the window and make the cursor appear is to click "start" with an empty field. The error requester will appear with the regular blue title bar. Afterwards, the input requester will appear in blue as well, and a cursor appear after I click into the text entry form. I'm almot always running winetest inside a virtual desktop. There's not a single log printed to the terminal. Actually I already know this behaviour from Ubuntu Linux, but somehow it's more of a pain on MacOS. I just tested again in the unreleased Ubuntu Lucid: the tag input form has a grey title bar, shows no cursor but accepts my input. That's why I did not bother to report this bug in the past. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 60563] New: Kerberos (Negotiate) login to MS SQL Server fails since out-of-process lsass: second InitializeSecurityContext gets empty input token
by WineHQ Bugzilla Oct. 23, 2026

Oct. 23, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60563 Bug ID: 60563 Summary: Kerberos (Negotiate) login to MS SQL Server fails since out-of-process lsass: second InitializeSecurityContext gets empty input token Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: secur32 Assignee: wine-bugs(a)list.winehq.org Reporter: w.janos(a)maciosoft.net Target Milestone: --- Distribution: --- 32-bit Delphi/ADO application connects to MS SQL Server 2017 using the Microsoft OLE DB Driver 18 for SQL Server (MSOLEDBSQL) with Integrated Security. Kerberos is configured correctly: valid TGT, SPN MSSQLSvc/<host>:<port> registered, and kvno resolves it. Wine 11.0 (stable): login succeeds. Wine 11.20 (staging, WoW64 prefix): login fails. The driver shows "SQL Server Network Interfaces: " with an empty description. The failure happens in the second leg of the Kerberos exchange. The first gss_init_sec_context runs inside lsass.exe and produces the AP-REQ (GSS_S_CONTINUE_NEEDED, ret_flags 0x4133). The server's reply token is then passed back by the driver in the second InitializeSecurityContextW call. But gss_init_sec_context inside lsass receives an EMPTY input token and fails: trace:kerberos:initialize_context gss_init_sec_context returned 0x1 minor status 0 ret_flags 0x4133 trace:kerberos:initialize_context gss_init_sec_context returned 0x90000 minor status 0x186a1 ret_flags 0 trace:kerberos:trace_gss_status_ex GSS-API error: 0x90000: "Invalid token was supplied" I confirmed the empty input with an LD_LIBRARY_PATH shim around libgssapi_krb5.so.2 that logs the input and output tokens of gss_init_sec_context: INPUT len=0 OUTPUT len=3415 (1st call, AP-REQ) INPUT len=0 OUTPUT len=0 (2nd call, should carry the server's AP-REP) On the client side, secur32 is called with a non-NULL input SecBufferDesc on the second call: trace:secur32:lsa_InitializeSecurityContextW 08514D50 08514D40 L"MSSQLSvc/mcsfs01.mcs.local:49829" 0x14003 0 16 0026EBCC 0 ... Suspected cause --------------- include/wine/lsass.idl (introduced with the out-of-process lsass) declares: typedef struct { ULONG ulVersion; ULONG cBuffers; SecBuffer *pBuffers; } SecBufferDesc; pBuffers has no [size_is(cBuffers)], so widl marshals only ONE SecBuffer. programs/lsass/lsass.c then iterates input->cBuffers / output->cBuffers elements. When the caller passes more than one buffer and the token is not buffer 0, the package never sees the token. Elements past index 0 are also read out of bounds of the unmarshalled array. Likely fix: [size_is(cBuffers)] SecBuffer *pBuffers; (I could not inspect MSOLEDBSQL's exact SecBufferDesc layout, for example token plus channel bindings or an extra empty buffer. That part is an inference from the IDL and the observed empty input.) Steps to reproduce ------------------ 1. WoW64 prefix, install msoledbsql (18.x, x64 installer, which includes the 32-bit driver). 2. kinit user@REALM; SQL Server with a registered MSSQLSvc SPN. 3. 32-bit client connecting via OLE DB: Provider=MSOLEDBSQL;Data Source=host\instance; Integrated Security=SSPI (any ADO test program). 4. Wine 11.0: works. Wine 11.20: fails as above. Environment ----------- Ubuntu 26.04 x86_64, MIT krb5 1.22.1, WineHQ packages wine-staging 11.20 and wine-stable 11.0, MS SQL Server 2017 (14.0.1000), Windows AD domain. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. [Bug 60552] New: RFE: Explicitly define linker segment option to override distro default
by WineHQ Bugzilla Oct. 23, 2026

Oct. 23, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60552 Bug ID: 60552 Summary: RFE: Explicitly define linker segment option to override distro default Product: Wine Version: 11.20 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: loader Assignee: wine-bugs(a)list.winehq.org Reporter: mike(a)cchtml.com Target Milestone: --- Distribution: --- Wine has relied on default linker behavior. Starting with Fedora 45 and binutils 2.47 the default linker option "--rosegment" is now set for all binary linking. The previous default linker option was "--no-rosegments" and other distros may or may not follow Fedora. The reasoning behind the option switch is to improve security of the resulting binary layout. May Wine explicitly define "--no-rosegments" to preserve the expected binary output? This should be a no-op for all distros except Fedora 45+ that now override the defaults. I have opened a binutils bug to discuss the change, too. https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=34714 -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. I have not yet bisected the commits for 11.20. If there is a suspected commit happy to try reverting it. The game launches fine, can click to continue or start new game. The game will load, and as it is trying to start rendering the first scene frame, the game crashes reliably with "../wine/dlls/ntdll/unix/virtual.c:1502: create_view: Assertion `view->protect & VPROT_SYSTEM' failed."
