Texture destruction is async, happening on the device's command stream. This means these textures can be destroyed way after the swapchain itself. But we did set `texture->swapchain` to `NULL` before queuing their destruction, so that bit is fine. The problem is in texture_resource_unload. Here we try to acquire the context, which goes adapter_gl_acquire_context -> wined3d_context_gl_acquire -> wined3d_context_gl_activate -> wined3d_context_gl_update_window. And here we try to access `context_gl->c.swapchain->win_handle`, which unfortunately points to the swapchain that was just freed. I am unsure what's the fix for this. Do we hold a refcount of the swapchain in the context? Do we clear `context->swapchain` when a swapchain is being freed? Should we release the front/back buffer synchronously? Spreadsheet with flicker/flash when you click on their tabs. Wordpro will have artifacts of different parts of WorPro's screen. Typing will sometimes not appear unless you move the window to another part of the screen, then the typing, which really is there, will appear. But if you move the windows back where it came from, the typing will disappear again. I mounted the flash drive using pmount which adds the noexec flag. Executing the application as in wine ./Client.exe works. However, the application also spawns Client.bin (presumably using CreateProcess) and that binary crashes on start when spawned from noexec filesystem. It raises an exception very early in Wine code so I guess the application is in no position to catch it. And it raises it in the spawned application, not the spawning application. The Client.bin itself is not executable (as in +x mode). I can add traces if needed but this should be easy to reproduce. I see multiple related problems here 1) wine does not check the noexec flag when loading a binary initially from the commandline but does check it (or uses a library function that does) when a windows application calls spawn or clone or whatever - inconsistency 2) wine checks the noexec in the wrong place - it should check before performing CreateProcess and report error in the calling application but it fails executing the created process and crashes 3) when wine fails executing an application due to the noexec flag it should produce an intelligible error message rather than crash -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Process is quite lengthy, so i switch focus to another window (e.g. browser) when virtual desktop is initialized. During steam load process, focus is stolen from browser. It remains as top-most window, but 'inactive'. And, e.g. to continue typing something in the browser i have to bring focus back. Few moments later (1-2), wine's window becomes top-most, even if i click inactive browser window to restore focus. During steam shutdown process, it steals focus again, but this time without bringing virtual desktop to top. Steam is just example: this occurs with numerous other apps, in some cases it may happen even multiple times during launch process of some complex application. For me as user, it is extremely annoying - i always thought that virtual desktop is a way to avoid integration between wine and OS WM, with its own tray and window management, and that virtual desktop should present itself as normal OS window. I tried to nail down the problem by vastly expanding RelayExclude to the 500 topmost function calls, an excerpt of the resulting log is also attached. When they are kicked out, the screen on their end reads "the host has left." This error was similar to the Command and Conquer 3 log I just filed. The issue is caused by GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB remaining enabled while rendering to the default framebuffer (FBO 0), leading to a double gamma/sRGB conversion in some Wayland/EGL pipelines. Disabling GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB only when rendering to the default framebuffer fixes the color output. Environment Wine: wine-git (tested on 11.x, reproducible on current master) Backend: winewayland.drv (Wayland native, not XWayland) GPU: AMD (Mesa) Compositor: wlroots-based (qtile Wayland) EGL backend in use Application tested: Roon (Chromium/CEF-based UI, OpenGL rendering) Observed behavior Colors appear faded / washed out Gamma looks incorrect (as if double sRGB conversion occurs) Issue only occurs under Wayland/EGL Colors are correct: Under X11/XWayland Or if GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB is manually disabled for FBO 0 Root cause hypothesis Some Wayland/EGL compositors already perform colorspace handling for the window surface. If GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB remains enabled when rendering to the default framebuffer, the pipeline applies sRGB conversion twice: App → GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB → EGL/Compositor colorspace → Display This results in desaturated output. Minimal fix Disable GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB only when binding the default framebuffer (FBO 0), while preserving the application's requested sRGB state for non-default FBOs.
