The bug is not present in yesterday's CVS.
At least I could open a WinAMP playlist (in cp1251) that referenced files with
Russian fienames, and play them all. This worked both in ru_RU.koi8r and
ru_RU.UTF-8 locales.

This is a regression and the way to fix it is to find the patch that broke it
by doing Regression Testing as outlined here.

Summary: Street Atlas USA doesn't work under Wine 20040121
Product: Wine
Version: 20040121
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: Aramini(a)LL.MIT.edu
When DeLorme Street Atlas USA 9.0 is run under Wine 20040121, the application's
splash screen comes up as well as an error dialog with the header "Street Atlas
USA" containing the message "Failed to create empty document." Also the messages
fixme:ole:CoRegisterMessageFilter stub
err:msg:DispatchMessageW BeginPaint not called on WM_PAIT for hwnd 0x1002d!
are show up on the terminal window in Wine is invoked.
If the OK button in the error dialog is clicked on, the error dialog and the
splash screen go away, and the following messages show up in the terminal window:
wine: Unhandled exception (thread 0009), starting debugger...
WineDbg starting on pid 8
No debug information in ELF 'wine' ((nil))
Followed by numerous messages of the form

I then entered the bt command at the Wine-dbg> prompt, resulting in:

Summary: % Variables do not work for print spool queues
configuration
Product: Wine
Version: 20040309
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: wine-files
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: wine(a)wine.lka.org.lu
When configuring a drive, you can use variables surrounded by percent:
[Drive C]
"Path" = "%HOME%/.wine/fake_windows"
"Type" = "hd"
"Label" = "fake_windows"
"Filesystem" = "win95"
However, the same thing in print spool queue definitions does not work:
[spooler]
"FILE:" = "%HOME%/test.ps"
Neither does:
[spooler]
"FILE:" = "${HOME}/test.ps"
Same thing for the ppd file:
[ppd]
"generic" = "%HOME%/.wine/generic.ppd"
===> It would be great if variables worked everywhere in the config file (or
at least for entries which represent files)
Thanks,
Alain
