I had the same problem a while back. If I remember right, setting up windows
standard fonts solved my problem. Here are two possible solutions:
With real windows installed, just tell X11 where to find the fonts, for XFree86,
the config file is /etc/X11/XF86Config or /etc/X11/XF86Config4 and add a new
"FontPath" line to the files section pointing to the windows font dir e.g.
FontPath "/mnt/c/windows/fonts/"
the qoutes are needed, and run mkfontdir in the storage directory. As I
understand it, it is only allowable to use these fonts from their original
installation location.
The second option is downloading the fonts from
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=34153&release_id=105 and
installing and configuring as above.
In either case you will need to make X reload its font data by running
xset fp rehash

I've just sent a patch for that.
Now things should behave the same as with native dll.

Yes... it is apparently working.
I've done some simple tests and it is working.

Summary: Systray icons are not transparent...
Product: Wine
Version: 20050930
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P4
Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: m.goemmel(a)compulab.de
I'm not sure if this only happens on the KDE desktop: when an application uses
a systray icon, the background of this systray icon has not the default
background of the systray, but some sort of grey. Can be checked with our
Emtec products like Moony at http://www.emtec.com/moony. It's only a cosmetic
thing, but would be nice to have.
Thanks
Markus

To see the problem, follow this:
First,he demo of this game is available in clubic.com
There is a problem with intro movies, but this is a another bug :)
Then, to avoid this bug, go to the repertory
Gamedata/indy/movies and delete all file.bik and then replace all them with
touch file.bik
Then, tou can play this game, but with the annoyed problem.
Solve this problem would permit to play a very good game with wine.

I just tested wine on different x-servers. It works properly on xfree (4.3) and
kdrive-4.3.0 . (I used xfree from knoppix 4.0, chrooted to my local gentoo
installation)
Is there anybody using wine on gentoo and xorg-x11-6.8.2 without this problems?
