Attached diff. Regression testing reveals the exact patch committed on 20050824 is what broke fonts and made them s p a c e d o u t on my AMD64 boxes. Somewhere in this diff is the answer but I am not sure exactly where. I did find some comments in the code that look suspicious: < /* FIXME this sucks - no respect for unicode (what else can be a line separator in unicode?) */ This seems like it might apply to my problem. I noticed that only the first line of text looks s p a c e d o u t in explorer. If the line wraps then subsequent lines look ok. Again, my 32 bit machines don't have any problem with line wrapping in IE.
