I've done a lot of research and found that this odd behavior was caused by -B
flag accidentally presend in MAKEFLAGS environment variable. I've unset that
variable and now it works. Sorry for wasting your time.

I get very similar messages trying to install a "Thomas the Train" CD:
fixme:ole:ITypeInfo_fnRelease destroy child objects
[many times]
err:ole:marshal_object object doesn't expose interface
{be6115a1-7de5-48dc-ad2a-25060e00fce2}, failing with error 0x80004002
[many times]
fixme:ole:RpcChannelBuffer_GetDestCtx (0x7fcbef68,0x7fcbef6c), stub!
fixme:ole:RpcChannelBuffer_GetDestCtx (0x7fcbf038,0x7fcbf03c), stub!
Either before or after the last two lines, the installer pops up a dialog titled
"Unhandled Exception", containing "Error Number: 0x80010105 Setup will now
terminate."
It doesn't crash or hang. After I close the dialog, I get a bunch more of
various err:ole: lines, then it exits.

I'd love to test, but I haven't halflife installed, and my video card locks when
I try opengl apps. So someone else will have to test this.

Sorry, I hadn't looked at this program since I filed the bug. Yes, it does work
fine now.

Default, the problem still exists. I don't have too much time to hack around
right now, but I don't know how I'd make those changes w/ the new registry
instead of config.

Ok Well what I've done is installed winesetup through ubuntu. Which deleted
wine. I setup wine's fake folders and all of that I then re-installed wine
which worked. I ran quickbooks 2005/06 and it started the install process. It
brings up flashplayer which I have installed. It asks to specify where I am
which I then select that I'm in Australia. After that it freezes and is not
responsive.
What spits out is as follows.
marc@ubuntu:/media/cdrom$ wine autorun.exe
err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {275c23e2-3747-11d0-9fea-00aa003f8646} not registered
fixme:ole:CoCreateInstance no classfactory created for CLSID
{275c23e2-3747-11d0-9fea-00aa003f8646}, hres is 0x80040154
wine: Unhandled exception (thread 0009), starting debugger...

err:seh:EXC_DefaultHandling Unhandled exception code c000013a flags 0 addr

However when trying it again it doesn't get part the first menu. It loads up
but nothing happens.
