All you can do is to do regression testing here. You need to find what patch
broke it for you.
Otherwise it is a duplicate of your prior bug report and should be closed.

So what's the problem again? Please don't reference cedega. It's closed source
and not helpfull at pinpointing the problem. Also "hot fix"/"hack" codding is
not acceptable for Wine.

This problem does not exist in the cvs version of cedega. So it should be
possible to port it from there. (cvs.transgaming.org)

Summary: Diablo II crashes on click of 'enter battlenet'
(multiplayer mode).
Product: Wine
Version: 20050725
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-misc
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: lunar_raven(a)msn.com
This was a known problem for transgaming (cedega), yet they created a working
'hotfix' for it very fastly. Here's a thread to that:
http://transgaming.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4032
I would just use that...however,
My diablo II loader (I have to use this..broken CD ROM)... doesn't work with
their software right now. It won't load. It works with wine, though...yet
has the problem I portrayed above. Please implement this 'hotfix' like
cedega, so that we can play Diablo II LOD multiplayer using wine.
Thank you.

OK. I've done what you suggested.
I ran "WINEDLLOVERRIDES="usp10=n" wine notes.exe".
When I entered my password I could see that the client is trying to communicate
with the server (text in the status bar of the client), but then I get a window
saying :

I have now found out that the problem occurs after I switch to another task and
then switch back again.
Also, an Excel spreadsheet will no longer accept input when this problem occurs.
(I am using the Gnome desktop on Ubuntu Breezy.)
