The problem here was you havent run wineprefixcreate. Once this is done, that key appears and the install gets to the first panel (which I dont understand the language of but looks about right!). With wine as I had it installed, the application traps because it doesnt expect this key missing - it is there on all windows systems by default. Please confirm how you installed wine - was it an RPM or via CVS.
