Could somebody add a todo_wine in our test suite? Or a normal test if it is fixed?

Summary: bzip2 compresses better the release archive than gzip
Product: Wine
Version: 20050310
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: wine-files
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: jerome.bouat(a)wanadoo.fr
I compressed the official release archive with bzip2
and saw the following difference:
---
[j@localhost tmp]$ du Wine-20050310.tar.*
8,8M Wine-20050310.tar.bz2
12M Wine-20050310.tar.gz
---
Compressing the release archive with bzip2 instead of gzip saves about 22% of
the archive size. Since this archive is widely downloaded, bzip2 compression
could save a lot of bandwidth too.

------- Additional Comments From rklass(a)gmx.de 2005-11-03 15:29 -------
by using winealsa.drv instead of wineoss.drv I got around the HEL error
messages, disabling ingame sound purged the buffer underrun message, the only
thing that is left now are the D3D errors and the slowdown still is persistent,
so it doesn't seem to be an audio problem
but thanks for your fast reply
