WOOHOO! This fixes "half" the problem with Bug3148.
Once I applied the patch, I no longer had the problem
with the effect of the mouse button being continously
pressed once I clicked on something.
However, one problem still remains. If I select 3
items (shift + click from start item to finish item),
and I click with the left-mouse, my selection is lost
as now only 1 item is selected (the one I clicked on).
However, if I right-click, my selection isn't lost.
It seems what *should* happen is the following:
1. you make your selection in a listview (2+ items) by
using the shiftkey + left-mouse button
2. let go of shiftkey and items are still selected
3. click on one of the highlighted items
4. selection remains intact
5. drag-drop as you wish
However, things seem to go amiss at step 3. I can
somewhat retain the selection if I keep the shift-key
pressed throughout the process -- which is not the
norm as I should let go at step 2..
So, can someone listen (pay attention) to Vitaly and
apply the patch so at least this bug can get half-way
fixed???
Thanks!
Hiji

I think we need to create multiple metabugs for different copy protection
programs. They are way too differnt to track as a whole "Copy Protection
Support". To identify which copy protection is used on a game, see this page:

This regression also seems to affect the Neverwinter Nights Aurora Toolset
http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?versionId=3186 . There are some screenshots
there that show what the problem is. I've also tested it with Wine from 20050131
10:34:00 CST and it appears the same as in 20050111. I'll test it in 10:35:00
CST if asked.
Please not that the Toolset does not work properly in the Jan Wines, but it is
certainly better than later releases.

Half life 2 works nicely now, except for rather trippy graphics. But that doesnt
concern me. Mouse input in half life 2 seems to be broken ingame, on the menus
it is fine. Game only seems to get input once every second or so. Running
fullscreen, allowing app to grab cursor, changing windows version do nothing to
help it.

20050524 - works
20050725 - brakes
between these two versions, quite a lot happend. Can you try to find out when
exactly it brakes? I mean: Test first 20050628 and then you need to compile Wine
from CVS for the days inbetween, to find out on which day which patch causes the
regression. This makes fixing much easier and tenfolds the change that some
spends some time fixing it.

Summary: Regression in database program that used to work with
20050524
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: wine-x11driver
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: simon(a)arara.de
A (quite old) database program (cobra adress plus 8) that's unfortunately still
used in this office used to work with 20050524, when i try to open a datafile in
20050725 though i get these errors:
err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateWindow invalid window height -25
err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateWindow invalid window width -6
err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateWindow invalid window height -25
err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateWindow invalid window width -6
It successfully opens the file but doesn't display the content of the file.
This is probably rather a bug in the program than a bug in wine but it would be
nice if it'd work again anyway, vmware just eats too much performance.
