------- Additional Comments From wine(a)staznosti.sk 2006-24-11 04:29 -------
Does not help. I have installed fontforge before compiling new wine. Compiled
wine with --verbose and it does not complain about anything. Now, when ldconfig
has been run, wine is unable to run any program talking about buggy libXrender.so

I am using wine-0.9.25 and can confirm this bug. It renders Counter-Strike
unplayable as Steam cannot connect.

are you saying this is a change from a previous situation where it did install?
If so please specify in what conditions it was installing before and what you
have changed that broke it. The info you gave is of little use understanding
the problem.
I may have some info about the IE5 issue but I dont want to waste time posting
arbitary advice about an entirely undefined problem.
Please give a full description of what worked (if anything) and what you are
doing now that does not.

starts basically fine with current git. The bug still happens if i start and
kill milkshape very quickly a few times. not worth the trouble fixing i think.
I'll resolve as abandoned.

Please take a look at bug 3777 too... Vitaly already investigated some
problems in this area months ago, the results are described in bug 3777

> What is the showstopper in not merging the patch?
Well, the patch that is supposed to work, does not. I'm not happy merging the
other one, because WS_shutdown() does much more than call shutdown(), so it
might help Warcraft III but break other apps.
This weekend I might look into what exactly happens for shutdown() and what
overlapped sockets really are and how wine handles them. Then I'll either write
a proper patch or submit this one.

Thank you for doing regression testing. It would have been nice if reported did
this a year ago. However that patch is correct and fixing bug 430 :
http://winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2005-October/021392.html
So just simply removing it won't do.
So from what I understood, the only problem is that when the "search window"
shows up, the cursor is at the beginning of the text, not the end?
