Summary: Text rendering problems in X-Change 3
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.25.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-ddraw
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: from_wine_bugzilla(a)ssokolow.com
Ever since I first tried it, I've noticed text rendering problems in X-Change
3. (a niche-market adult game from Japan) Having confirmed that the problems
still exist, I'm submitting two screenshots of the problem since there exists
no playable demo for the game.

It is possible that this bug doesn't affect the new client version released
recently, I should probably test that. I can confirm the bug and fix in the
previous version though.

Okay, when using Wine without any patch, I also have to wait for ~ 5 minutes
until the error message appears.

Wait, both patches do work.
But with the "patch to wake up select" patch, I have to wait for ~ 5 minutes
until the error message appears.
With the "winsock-based patch to wake up select" one, I have to wait for ~ 15
seconds until the error message appears.
With windows, I have to wait for ~ 15 seconds until the error message appears.
I will now try what happens when I do not use any patch because I never waited
for ~ 5 minutes after joining a firewalled game :-)

Damjan, the second patch (winsock-based patch to wake up select) fixes the
issue, the first one (patch to wake up select) does not.
