When I first ran the program, it did a bunch of DLL updates, and verified the updates. Then I got a little tray icon that warms up my cpu. This is with latest git on a 64-bit pentium 4 in ubuntu. Apparently my problems from comment 10 were not due to ATI drivers , but due too sound problems.
