I bet you will find you still have the same problem. The recient Direct Sound changes should have no effect on performance. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-directx-dsound AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: bafraid2b1(a)hotmail.com The directx sound enchancements introduced in version 0.9.6 appear to be adversely affecting the performance of Diablo II. After upgrading from 0.9.5 to 0.9.6, the sound becomes choppy and the game becomes sluggish. Previously, when using version 0.9.5, these problems did not manifest. Reverting back to version 0.9.5 shows increased performance. The test system is a 700Mhz PIII with 384MB of memory running Fedora Core 4.
