Does this application support Windows 98? If so, set Wine to emulate
Windows 98 because dnsapi.dll is not present on Windows 98.

This is probably a dupe of bug #4506 that Rein Klazes has a fix for. You
could try to confirm this by applying Rein's patch (accessible from the
page for bug #4506) and report back here.

A patch by Mike McCormack that adds a stub for _wsetlocale got comitted.
So please try again with msvcrt set to builtin.

Did you try setting hardware acceleration to emulation in winecfg? ALSA does a
poor emulation of OSS when mmap is used for hardware acceleration.
If that dosen't help, then generate a trace file and post it here as an attachment:
WINEDEBUG=+wave,+dsound,+tid wine your.exe >& trace
where your.exe is the name of the exe you run.

In both aplications, Maniac Mansion Deluxe and Zak McKracken, (even if "Allow
DirectX applications to stop mouse moving out of their window" is switched off)
the mouse cannot be moved out of the window.

In both aplications, Maniac Mansion Deluxe and Zak McKracken, its DirectX sound
driver only works with ALSA. If switched to OSS both apllications say "Unable to
initialize your sound hardware".

Yes, that was the misconfiguration I talked about, I've changed that now. But
still I would say that this is a bug since wine+Diablo 2 really shouldn't be
trying to mess with your MBR to begin with.
