I assume, as you are running Gentoo AMD64, like me, you have the "linux32"
program installed.
Run "linux32 wine whatever", and the problems go away, for me anyway.
This affects a few programs.

The installer works if you add an empty file 'ddraw.dll' in the system
directory. Can someone submit a patch so this is done in wineprefixcreate?

Sorry about that...
I posted this bug with hoping it isn't a bug, but a configuration error of mine
(in the dlls, etc) since I dont really understand this debugging messages and I
want to help the best way I can...
Is there a guide or something to get me thru this thing of deferred dlls? I know
that I can't mix native and builtin components such as ole32 native and oleaut32
builtin, that is the sort of information I want, the groups of libraries such as
this (ole32, oleaut32 and rpcrt4).
Hope you can help me get this info, so I can be lot more helpful.
Thanx

Michael, buildwise everything seems OK on your system, judging from
the greps you posted. I suspect you are still running the older
version of winsock and not the CVS one. Can you verify that?

please just edit /usr/bin/wineprefixcreate and change shopt -o to shopt -s
then it should work.

Message transfered from Bug 4621, so searching bugzilla find this Bug:
While testing vlc-0.8.4a-win32 (http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?versionId=4271):
Run from the App-Directory: wine vlc.exe --vout OpenGL gstreamer.avi
(http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/media/small/gstreamer.avi)
vlc comes up and play the File, but:
- the video output is located in the left, bottom corner and
- the rest of the client-area is cleared / overwritten (black) frequently
Keywords: download, source
(Issue caused by the WM-Rewrite.)
