Some windows are skipped (#3, #4, #5), and so you are not asked for your serial number. Later on, the installer complains that the serial number you gave was invalid. When running it with wine, I notice that the #3 window appears for a fraction of second, disappears then it skips directly to #6. It feels as if you forgot to click the 'open' button. When you click again, it works. But really all you have to do is move the mouse slightly, and the open button fires its action and opens the session window.
