Summary: FASMW registers file change upon mouse click
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.12.
Platform: Other
URL: http://flatassembler.net/
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-gui
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: mccpat(a)gmail.com
In the FASMW editor under Wine in Linux, if you create a new file, and click
anywhere in the text entry box, it won't say it's modified. Unless you
add/remove characters in the editor, of course.
However, after you save the file, and _then_ click anywhere in the editor, FASMW
will register the file as modified (see the bottom corner for the 'Modified'
string to appear).
This is not the case if it runs in Window$ natively.

Searching for news about using Mathcad 11 on Wine I found in
http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?versionId=1920
a link to a tutorial written by Doberski that seems doesn't exist.

Fix for linux-based development client for same issue
This is a fix someone wrote for the native Linux client for Second Life before
the fix was implimented permanently. Many people still use the windows client
through WINE as the Linux client lacks many features thus far. I wasn't sure
if this fix would provide helpful info.
Thanks,
Dave

Not sure how best to describe this, but it appears as though WINE has some issue
with using alpha transparencys. I run into this problem when running Second
Life, any change to a users appearance/clothing turns any altered section of the
person not covered by clothing as solid black.
Thanks,
Dave

I added an ERR before and after every Enter/LeaveCriticalSection(...mmap_crst),
but then the bug didn't occur either (with the app from comment #6 ).
(Btw., I just bumped into this bug with that attached patch while running
Warcraft 3, so it seems it only makes the deadlock less likely.)

Not neccessarily a good assumption.
We should come up with a consensus on how to handle these.
FWIW, there's no problem with bugs staying closed in 'worksforme' state,
that's just as honorable a situation as having them closed in 'fixed' state --
and possibly more accurate.
