turning pixel shaders off by putting: SET pixelShaders "0"
in the Config.wtf file seems to stop WoW from crashing with this error when
starting it but there is still the matter of it crashing whenever the inddor
minimap appears.

I tried wine 0.9.16 on ubuntu dapper 6.06. The same result. The only difference
was that sound wasn't deactivated.

Hi!
I am using Slackware Linux version 10.2 with many upgrades from the current
tree.
I need Polish characters in the WIN applications I use, but whenever I try to
type these characters I get such an error (I used the notepad started up from
the KDE Konsole):

I am not sure this is a WINE problem per se, since I saw SuSe 10.2 with much
older version of WIne, which worked fine with Polish character. Maybe this is
a Slackware compilation problem. Nonetheless, I thought I report it and maybe
somebody has met the same problem before and instructs me how to fix it.
If it was already reported, disregard this message.
Regards,
Oliwer Bialas

Maybe something is busy using your sound device (like some sound daemon like
arts or some other sound app.) and therefore Wine blocks when trying to open the
sound device.

execution log
I tested with wine 0.9.16.
Microsoft Excel is blocked with the splash screen.
I assume the splash screen hide a dialog box since hitting the "enter" key
unlock the application.

I tried to install Microsoft Office 97.
I choosed the customized install process. This allows me to choose the installed
component. I could check and uncheck the components but I could not change the
current selected component with the mouse. I had to use the keyboard.
