NPTL works with newer kernels (meaning 2.6.x, or a 2.4 kernel that is patched to support NPTL, but not an unmodified "vanilla" 2.4 kernel such as Slackware uses) to provide improved performance for threads. This says that you need a patched 2.4 kernel. 10.2 came with 2.4.31. I suspect that Wine is linked to the non-NPTL libc on slackware for some reason. I have 3 applications under this section showing that have been there forever. The bug is real and I think you could easily recreate it if you use Visual Foxpro 6. All you need is an application that uses class objects. Compile it and when you run it, you'll see that it does not show the objects (they remain hidden). The class object remains hidden eventhough it's active.
