Really looks like a glibc without NPTL
In the future please _attach_ complete terminal output, including backtrace.

>From Slack 10.2 changelog:
Fri May 13 12:51:03 PDT 2005
Here's the (I'm sure) long awaited upgrade to Slackware's glibc to
include support for NPTL (the Native POSIX Thread Library). NPTL
works with newer kernels (meaning 2.6.x, or a 2.4 kernel that is
patched to support NPTL, but not an unmodified "vanilla" 2.4 kernel
such as Slackware uses) to provide improved performance for threads.
This says that you need a patched 2.4 kernel. 10.2 came with 2.4.31. It seems
like you did not update your kernel package.

I saw this on a friend's machine, but haven't had time to investigate.
I suspect that Wine is linked to the non-NPTL libc on slackware for some reason.
Could you check:
ldd /usr/local/lib/libwine.so.1
and
ls -l /lib/tls/libc* /lib/libc*

Summary: APPDB App Maintainer Bug

The application maintainer section where it says what applications you maintain
is broken. I have 3 applications under this section showing that have been there
forever. I signed up to maintain limewire and was able to add a new version, and
accept screenshots to the appdb and they are showing up in the queue, but it is
not showing up in my list of applications that I maintain.

Is anyone going to confirm this bug and try to fix it? The bug is real and I
think you could easily recreate it if you use Visual Foxpro 6. All you need is
an application that uses class objects. Compile it and when you run it, you'll
see that it does not show the objects (they remain hidden). The class object
remains hidden eventhough it's active. As a result you can not close it.
