Summary: Resizing the screen / resolution only works on startup -
Battlefield 1942
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.18.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: kevin(a)kevin-online.com
On startup, Battlefield sets the resolution to the size of startup / config
resolution, i.e. 800x600. When starting a game, the resolution is not updated to
the games resolution. Instead, the resolution is kept and only a part of the
game is shown. Switching back for forth with Esc, only moves the clipping more
and more out of sight. Changeing the resolution in-game again doesn't have any
effect to the resolution.
Because of bug #5872 I'm only able to try this in desktop mode. W/o desktop
mode, the resolution is set to 800x600, but the game / wine faile afterwards.

ReportedBy: kevin(a)kevin-online.com
When I start battlefield 1942 I get a message box (cancle, retry, ignore) with
the error message "releaseNativeTexture() release error:1". At the same time,
the console shows the following messages:
fixme:d3d:IWineD3DStateBlockImpl_Release Releasing primary stateblock

(SPI_SETFOREGROUNDLOCKTIMEOUT)
When clicking any of the options, wine closes.
When setting up wine in desktop mode, the game is running. When leaving the
game, same messages show up again.
Some System info:

- X.org 7.0-r1
- wine 0.9.18 (enabled USE flags: X alsa arts cups dbus gif glut jpeg lcms

Cheers,
Kevin
