I have completed regression testing and found the problem to be in patch:
[e325efbd8dfe650a4cec7caf24b30961506aa2b4] preloader: Allocate more space in
low memory as well as for top-down allocations.
Thank you Margolen for the links to help me with the testing.

Oh, I see. I get all my wine installs using yum from the Fedora repositories,
so I don't know anything about how they were compiled.

I verified that the login screen is not allocating more and more d3d resources
by using dumpResrouces near the fps counter, thu it may be in some other place
in d3d. Too bad I have problems of using valgrind with wine...

Neil Rashbrook, there was a comment for the last try:
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-devel/2006-September/051162.html
Can you improve the patch or respond?
Paul Romanyszyn, perhaps you can recreate the problem with similar windows
created by yourself in the test? If you have the code to the Delphi app you
should be able to recreate the same behaviour in a c app = test case...

Well, lets assign the essential cause of this situation deadlock to the unstable
linux distro. Still I don't agree WinXP is the only such OS :p

Leslie, first of all it would be nice to know how did you get your Wine
installed. By default Wine compiles unstripped own library files. But some
packages strips the debug info, I am afraid. Hence my question:)
